IUCN West Asia (ROWA) facilitated Palestine’s participation in global environmental forums, enhancing international cooperation and awareness on environmental challenges. This supports efforts to secure the environment of Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem through knowledge exchange and stakeholder engagement.

Description and results/achievements of activities:
IUCN ROWA, in collaboration with the Palestinian Environmental Quality Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Central Bureau of Statistics, worked on preparing the Fifth National Biodiversity Report, which may contribute to securing the environment of Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem by providing a scientific foundation for biodiversity conservation and enhancing international recognition of Palestine’s environmental efforts.

One challenge in securing the environment of Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem is limited environmental data and difficulties in implementing field projects, affecting biodiversity conservation and sustainable resource management. IUCN ROWA works to enhance scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange to help address these challenges.

IUCN West Asia (ROWA) has actively contributed to environmental efforts in Palestine, supporting the resolution "To secure the environment of Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem." Through collaboration with government entities and international engagement, IUCN ROWA has worked to enhance biodiversity conservation, environmental governance, and sustainable resource management. One significant initiative was facilitating Palestine’s participation in global environmental forums, strengthening international cooperation and awareness on environmental challenges. By engaging Palestinian stakeholders in these platforms, IUCN ROWA promoted knowledge exchange and policy advocacy, reinforcing efforts to protect natural resources in Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Jerusalem.
