In addition, the Specialist Group facilitated a study tour to Slovenia for a Lao and Vietnamese delegation that visited Triglav National Park and Škocjan Caves World Heritage Site to exchange knowledge and strengthen transboundary conservation cooperation.

In 2024, WCPA's Transboundary Conservation Specialist Group began efforts to increase the visibility and participation of transboundary conservation initiatives in the American continent, including pioneering work in the Maya Forest that encompasses seven protected areas across Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.
