The IUCN SSC Animal Biobanking for Conservation Specialist Group is actively involved with implementing this resolution: as called for in the resolution, this Specialist Group, which was first established in 2022, is working on establishing a global biobanking network for conservation purposes, and has steadily been growing its membership. In addition, the Specialist Group's leadership and partners helped convene a discussion on "Developing a Regional Biobanking Network in Oceania" at the Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG) Meeting in 2024.
