II. Implementation
Activities carried out to implement this Resolution
Convene stakeholders/Networking
Describe the results/achievements of the activities
Following more intense actions during the past years, it was agreed to convene a meeting to continue and follow up the discussions especially between the CEM and the RWG. Such meeting has not happened unfortunately and is still pending. A date is still under discussion, as noted by ZSL.
Notably, the WCPA Restoration Task Force published a policy brief in partnership with other organisations in 2024 entitled 'Putting People at the Centre of Ecosystem Restoration'. This document outlines how consideration of human dimensions may play a central role for developing and implementing restoration initiatives, which may also facilitate rewilding in support of the EU Nature Restoration Implementation Process.

Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
The implementation of this resolution has advanced during the past years. Now the pending meeting is the main step to ensure it continues advancing well.
Future actions / activities needed for the implementation of this Resolution
The most important step now is to ensure the foreseen meeting between CEM and the RWG happens as soon as possible. Similarly to the report from last year: "...it will be fruitful for the RWG and CEM to continue to exchange on this important Resolution, and work together perhaps in even closer collaboration”, towards its delivery before the next WCC and thereafter. A great deal of progress has already been made, on which next steps may build. If deemed useful, the Secretariat stands ready to help connect and support efforts.
Are these actions/activities planned?
Yes
