Activities carried out to implement this Resolution

Describe the results/achievements of the activities
Update on progress of the Task Force 107 on reducing the impact of fisheries on marine biodiversity:
• Background. Task Force established in 2023. Chair: Dr Riley Pollom. TF is active with virtual meetings are happening ca. every two weeks.
• Consultants & budget: 1 consultant provided by EBCD, hired in May 2024.
• Status of the Situation analysis report. TF agreed and developed 7 chapters (expected completion date Sept. 2025 for publication as IUCN grey literature in time for WCC).

Challenges/obstacles encountered in the implementation of this Resolution and measures taken
TF failed to secure additional budget to hire a second consultant.
Progress: Slower pace than initially projected.
Active TF members were more numerous in Q1-Q2 2024 than now.
Secretariat has limited capacity to support the organisation of the TF meetings and work because overloaded and no staff time associated with the implementation of this TF. It could have really helped if the focal point or a team member would have had time to dedicate to this work every week.
