Implementation has progressed through the development and application of guidance, tools and partnerships supporting nature-positive electricity grid planning. IUCN and partners have advanced practical guidance on integrating biodiversity, climate and social considerations into electricity grid development, including strategic spatial planning, ecological connectivity, cumulative impact assessment and inclusive governance. The Resolution is also being operationalised through the emerging Nature Positive Energy agenda, including work on biodiversity-inclusive spatial planning, risk screening, mitigation approaches, monitoring and reporting, and country-level capacity development. Work is underway to further integrate these approaches into national energy and biodiversity planning, investment frameworks and project pipelines. However, implementation of the Resolution's full range of provisions, particularly systematic uptake by governments, power companies and financial institutions, remains at an earlier stage and will require further implementation and documented evidence of uptake.
