Asia countries have accomplished a great deal in understanding and documenting plant diversity. This edition of the Asian Plant Conservation Report presents readers with progress and successful cases of plant conservation in Asia. The first section introduces the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC). Subsequent sections provide basic information on features of plant diversity in Asia. Two additional sections present the threats to plant diversity and detail of implementation of the GSPC and its 16 targets.

This document summarizes Bangladesh’s existing capacity in addressing climate change, biodiversity and land degradation problems and concerns assessed through country-wide consultations. It includes an action plan developed to improve the country’s capacity in the public and private sectors and at individual, institutional and policy levels. The document has been divided into seven major chapters, namely: Introduction; Climate Change; Biodiversity; Land Degradation; Synergy; Capacity Development Action Plan; and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Overall objectives of the report as outlined in the Program Support Document (PSD) are to improve environmental quality of the country coupled with sustainable development, poverty alleviation and capacity building for better environmental management. This Project implementation Plan (PIP) was developed using the Logical framework Analyses (LFA) which sets out the benchmarks and indicators against which the outputs can be measured.
