Jugend-Naturbewusstseinsstudie 2020

Bei der vorliegenden Studie handelt es sich um eine Repräsentativbefragung zum Naturbewusstsein der 14- bis 17-jährigen Jugendlichen in Deutschland. Schwerpunkte der Studie sind unter anderem die Naturbeziehung von Jugendlichen in Zeiten von Corona, Demonstrationskultur und Handlungsbereitschaft zum Schutz der Natur sowie Einstellungen zu Gentechnik in der Landwirtschaft, Energiewende und Digitalisierung.

International expert workshop "World Heritage and climate change – Towards the update of the Policy document on the impacts of climate change on World Heritage properties"

The meeting brought together 20 international heritage experts on climate change from 15 countries with the aim of discussing the update of the Policy Document on the Impacts of Climate Change on World Heritage Properties, adopted by the General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention in 2007. The expert group was tasked to discuss the implementation to date of the 2007 policy document, the potential contents of an updated policy and to provide inputs to the further process.

The benefits of natural World Heritage : identifying and assessing ecosystem services and benefits provided by the world's most iconic natural places

This study identifies and assesses the diversity of ecosystem services, and in turn the benefits that World Heritage sites can deliver to society and the economy through direct and indirect use or through inherent 'non-use' values. It also aims to increase awareness and understanding of the multiple services and benefits that ecosystems can provide as well  as their contribution to the well-being of local, national and global communities.

Impact mitigation and biodiversity offsets : compensation approaches from around the world : a study on the application of Article 14 of the CBD (Convention on Biological Diversity)

This study compares compensation approaches taken with respect to impacts on biological diversity in selected countries from four different continents: Africa, Asia, North America, and South America. Background on specific legal and institutional frameworks for each country are elaborated and assumptions for further research are formulated. 

Prudence, justice and the good life : a typology of ethical reasoning in selected European national biodiversity strategies

Communication, participation and education (CEPA) are considered key to the implementation of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). To improve biodiversity communication, the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation commissioned an ethical expertise on good arguments in favour of biodiversity in 2011. This final report presents findings from an analysis of the German, Austrian, Swiss and EU biodiversity strategies with regard to their concepts of communication and ethics.
