Biodiversity in German development cooperation
<p>Non-timber forest products (NTFP) include all the materials (excluding timber) collected from natural or man-made forests and riverine habitats, and used to support local livelihoods in Lao PDR: food, medicines, fibres, extracts and ornamentals. This handbook describes a hundred commonly used or sold NTFPs exclusively derived from plants. Each product (or species) is described as well as its conservation status.</p>
This document reflects the main ideas of a joint production by the two Technical Co-operation projects "Implementation of the Biodiversity Convention" (BIODIV) and the "Tropical Ecology Support Programme" (TOEB), entitled "Tourism in Technical Co-operation." It addresses the planning and management of socio-economic benefits of tourism as sustainable development.
Cette revue de la conservation de la nature et des aires protégées en Côte d'Ivoire, où les habitats naturels se sont trouvés bouleversés en seulement deux ou trois décennies, constitue une contribution à un état des lieux biogéographique du continent à la charnière de deux siècles.
