South American camelids : an action plan for their conservation = Camélidos silvestres Sudamericanos : un plan de acción para su conservación
This action plan gives a comprehensive survey of the distribution and conservation status of wild camelids in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Peru and identifies their conservation needs. One such need, for greater public awareness of the value of conserving the species, is addressed through recommending the development of sustainable utilization at the local level, which could allow rural populations to enjoy material benefits from the conservation of camelids.
