Biologie de la Genette vulgaire (Genetta genetta Linné)
A Regional Red List Workshop for the carnivores of the Arabian Peninsula took place 8-10 February 2011. The aim of the workshop was to assess the regional conservation status of terrestrial carnivores in the Arabian Peninsula. The information provided here will help to put national conservation priorities into a regional context, thus maximising the effectiveness of local and national conservation measures, and facilitating the development of integrated regional conservation strategies.
This second volume in the Handbook of the Mammals of the World series covers 17 families in six orders; although united here, their grouping as "hoofed mammals" is more practical than phylogenetic. Families detailed include aardvarks, hyraxes, elephants, pangolins, horses and relatives, rhinoceroses, tapirs, camels, pigs, peccaries, hippopotamuses, chevrotains, musk-deer, deer, hollow-horned ruminants, pronghorn, and giraffe and okapi.
This first volume in the Handbook of the Mammals of the World series deals with the following families: African Palm Civet; Cats; Linsangs; Civets, Genets and Oyans; Hyenas; Mongooses; Euplerids; Dogs; Bears; Red Panda; Racoons; Skunks; Weasels, Martens, Polecats, Badgers and Otters. This volume includes an introduction to the Class Mammalia by Don E. Wilson.
