The purpose of this booklet is to help those people of the Southern Region of Sudan who are engaged in the work of protecting the wildlife of the area. These are the people working in the Democratic Republic of Sudan's Ministry of Wildlife, Conservation and Tourism. It is hoped that it will be of use to all people, from the rank of Game Scout or Tourist Guide, up to the highest officers. People in the Ministry are often posted to work away from their home areas, in places where there are animals unknown to them. Hopefully this booklet will be of use to them.
