Freshwater ecology

This report presents the results of a broad assessment of freshwater diversity in the Douro river basin in Spain and Portugal. The Douro river basin is the largest of the Iberian Peninsula, and an ecological region of great value due to the high diversity of ecosystems and the number of species. A total of 14 sites, either identified as Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) or potential KBA sites, were surveyed for fish and macroinvertebrate species.

La liste rouge 2011 des characées (Characeae) est la première liste de macroalgues me-nacées publiée en Suisse. Sur les 25 espèces recensées à ce jour sur le territoire helvétique, 23 ont été classées par catégorie selon les critères de menace de l’UICN. Il en résulte que 4 espèces indigènes sont considérées comme éteintes en Suisse (RE), 4 au bord de l’extinction (CR), 6 en danger (EN) et 6 vulnérables (VU).

Es ist die Erstausgabe der Roten Liste der gefährdeten Armleuchteralgen (Characeae) in der Schweiz. Darin sind alle bisher in der Schweiz festgestellten Characeenarten mit dem entsprechenden Gefährdungsgrad aufgrund der IUCN-Kriterien aufgeführt. Von den bekannten 25 einheimischen Arten sind 4 verschollen oder ausgestorben, 4 vom Aussterben bedroht, 6 stark gefährdet und 6 gefährdet.
