It highlights the relevance of IUCN’s work and the critical importance of this programme in the Mediterranean, as well as IUCN’s long-term commitment to supporting countries and members in the region in initiatives to achieve the UN Millennium Goals.

Viet Nam is a very beautiful country made up of mountains, forests, lush river deltas and wide expanses of coasts and beaches. But with one of the fastest growing economies in the world, Viet Nam is undergoing major changes. Viet Nam of the future will be very different from that of today, not only because of its rapid economic growth, but also due to the high vulnerability of its river deltas and coastlines to climate change.
