Land management

In this publication, a group of contributors look back at changes in the environment and land use over the centuries before trying to forcast where current events and trends are taking us. Their main purpose is to examine and consider what actions might be taken to ameliorate unwelcome trends and promote beneficial ones.

Although anthropologists and cultural geographers have explored "place" in various senses, little cross-cultural examination of "kinds of places", or ecotopes, has been presented from an ethno-ecological perspective. In this volume, indigenous and local understandings of landscape are investigated to better understand how human communities relate to their terrestrial and aquatic resources.

Esta publicación tiene por objetivo describir las herramientas jurídicas del ordenamiento argentino que podrían aplicarse a la conservación de la naturaleza en tierras de propiedad privada. Con esa finalidad, se describen algunos mecanismos jurídicos contemplados en la legislación nacional, tales como la servidumbre, el usufructo o el fideicomiso, y las posibles ventajas e inconvenientes que su aplicación podría generar a quien decidiera utilizarlas.
