Le Niger compte aujourd’hui 85 aménagements hydro-agricoles (AHA). Avec la pression démographique et la raréfaction des ressources naturelles disponibles pour l’activité agricole, l’informalité de la gestion du foncier des AHA et du statut des personnes qui les exploitent est devenue problématique.

Land Tenure Journal is published by FAO as a medium for the dissemination of information and views on tenure of land and other natural resources. 

Everyone has a relationship to land, but not everyone's right to land is secure. The Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) recognizes that conventional ways of managing land are not realistically going to meet the needs of millions of people. This book features the “land tools” that GLTN  has developed – practical ways to solve problems in land administration and management.

Agricultural investments involving the acquisition of long-term rights over large areas of land in developing countries have been the focus of much debate in recent years. Many have welcomed the renewed momentum for private investment in agriculture, but trends towards large-scale land acquisitions raise major social, economic and environmental concerns. While calls for more inclusive investment models have multiplied, there is limited understanding of what works and under what conditions.

This publication presents a comprehensive analysis of the rights-based agenda in forestry, connecting it with existing work on tenure reform, governance rights and human rights. The attention to rights in forestry differs from 'rights-based approaches' in international development and other natural resource fields in critical ways. Above all, redistribution is a central demand of activists in forestry, but not in other fields.

Concerns about food and energy security, coupled with increasing returns from agriculture, have increased interest in agricultural investments in developing countries. Public debates about 'land grabbing' have questioned the socio-economic impacts of large-scale land acquisitions. There is new interest in business models involving collaboration between companies and communities.

Designing a pro-poor land recordation system is the first attempt to fill the gaps in the development of new forms of land recordation to assist the implementation of a continuum of land rights approach at scale. It is about the development of the initial design of a pro-poor land recordation system - a recording system aimed at supporting the recognition and protection of a range of rights of the poor.

Esta publicación tiene por objetivo describir las herramientas jurídicas del ordenamiento argentino que podrían aplicarse a la conservación de la naturaleza en tierras de propiedad privada. Con esa finalidad, se describen algunos mecanismos jurídicos contemplados en la legislación nacional, tales como la servidumbre, el usufructo o el fideicomiso, y las posibles ventajas e inconvenientes que su aplicación podría generar a quien decidiera utilizarlas.
