Following several years of preparatory work across the globe, legal scholars, judges, UN officials and climate change experts from 11 countries came together to finalise a new normative framework aiming to strengthen the right of climate-displaced persons, households and communities. This resulted in the approval of the Peninsula Principles on Climate Displacement within States in August 2013.

Les efforts visant à évaluer l’efficacité du droit de l’environnement au moyen d’indicateurs juridiques sont indispensables à un moment où le droit de l’environnement, sa mise en oeuvre et son application efficaces sont essentiels à la transformation mondiale vers une société durable. Le droit de l’environnement nécessite des outils qui permettent aux gouvernements et à la société en général de mesurer avec précision et d’informer sur la mesure dans laquelle le droit est correctement et efficacement appliqué.
Efforts to assess the effectiveness of environmental law through legal indicators are indispensable at a time when environmental law and its effective implementation and enforcement are crucial in the global transformation towards a sustainable society. Environmental law requires tools which allow governments and society in general to accurately measure and inform about the extent to which the law is being correctly and effectively applied.
Drawing on examples from the tech and startup sectors, IUCN developed the idea of an incubator to identify and nurture ideas coming from protected and conservation area managers and stakeholders who lack the knowledge, resources, or professional contacts to make them a reality: the IUCN Incubator for Nature Conservation (INC). The objective of the present document is to pull together the key lessons, examples and resources generated through the INC pilot projects to inform future conservation finance projects and help bridge the gap between conservation and investment.
El presente documento es contentivo del Programa Nacional de Conservación de Ecosistemas Terrestres con cobertura boscosa en Honduras (PNCET). Este Programa constituye uno de los dos instrumentos de planificación que ha priorizado el país para implementar la Estrategia Nacional de REDD+. Este documento presenta el PNCET comienza con describir los aspectos metodológicos que fueron considerados en la formulación del Programa. Luego, se describe brevemente el contexto del proceso REDD+ en Honduras y la caracterización de los ecosistemas terrestres con cobertura forestal que cuenta el país.
A successful process to advance forest landscape restoration (FLR) needs to motivate, enable and resource its implementation. This brief offers a preliminary exploratory analysis of some of the range of policies that respond to each of these three requirements.
