The purpose of this paper is to provide a range of information which may be useful during dialogue to establish appropriate river flow regimes in the Sekong River in Viet Nam, Lao PDR and Cambodia when large hydropower projects are constructed and operated. It is designed to provide baseline or background information to assist in the process. The first part of the sourcebook starts by putting the Sekong River into context as one of the most significant large tributaries of the Mekong, with some information on the basic hydrology of the Sekong provided.

Flussauen in Deutschland : Erfassung und Bewertung des Auenzustandes

Flussauen spielen für den Erhalt der biologischen Vielfalt, den naturverträglichen Hochwasserschutz und die Anpassungen an den Klimawandel eine wichtige Rolle. Trotz der bedeutenden Funktionen von Auen im Naturhaushalt war über ihre räumliche Ausdehnung und ihren Zustand im bundesweiten Überblick bislang wenig bekannt. Diese Wissenslücke wurde durch die Erfassung und Bewertung der Auen von 79 Flüssen auf einer Länge von ca. 10.000 Flusskilometern mit einer Gesamtfläche von ca. 15.000 km² geschlossen.
