The author writes in the preface that those who immediately follow us will pay still more deary for past misuse of natural resources, which belongs to them in common with ourselves. The thought that a boy's book on conservation had possibilities for usefulness came trough the conviction that American boys are even more deeply concerned with what is being done with the great natural resources than those Americans who are boys no longer.

M. le professeur Jean Massart a continué, par plusieurs voyages au bord de la Meuse. Mme Schouteden-Wery se proposait qu'on doive rédiger une relation de ces excursions. Le résultat est cette publication.

L'Extension de L'Université libre de Bruxelles a organisé des excursions scientifiques dans les régions plus intéressantes de la Belgique. Une de ces excursions est en septembre 1906 dans le littoral de Belge. Cette publication contient des informations recueillies au cours de ces expéditions.

The first part of this report presents a general review and collection of case-studies on the impacts of water infrastructure on World Heritage areas world-wide. Analysing case studies from all continents, the report comes to the conclusion that the values of river ecosystems, although widely recognized by science and indigenous cultures alike, so far have not been adequately taken into account during implementation of the World Heritage Convention.
