Social aspects

This publication explores the epic marriage between computer technology and genetic engineering, and the historic transition into the Age of Biotechnology. Already, our economy is experiencing a massive shift away from the Industrial Age and into an era in which giant life-science corporations are fashioning a bio-industrial world.

The aim of this research is to: 1) identify the negative impact of conservation policies implemented in living World Heritage sites on the social quality of traditional communities; 2) develop a design tool constraining spatial morphology to overcome the negative influences on the social quality The study leads to a new approach to conservation planning that takes into account sustaining social quality while enforcing UNESCO World Heritage conservation program.

In der Ise-Niederung im Landkreis Gifhorn wurde zwischen 1990 und 1995 ein umfassendes Erprobungs- und Entwicklungsvorhaben im Bereich Naturschutz und Landschaftspflege durch BMU und BfN gefördert, das – mit Unterbrechungen – von 1989 bis 2007 durch ein interdisziplinär angelegtes Forschungsprogramm wissenschaftlich begleitet wurde.
