Cette étude présente une évaluation des performances économiques de quelques activitésd’adaptation promues par l’Union internationale pour la conservation de la nature au Burkina Faso et au Ghana. L’objectif général de l’évaluation est de contribuer à l’apprentissage participatif sur les avantages économiques des initiatives d’adaptation au changement climatique.

This study presents an evaluation of the economic performance of some adaptation activities promoted by IUCN in Burkina Faso and Ghana. The overall objective of the evaluation is to contribute to participatory learning about economic benefits of climate change adaptation initiatives. Specifically, it aims at identifying and analyzing the content, scope and relevance of adaptation activities and evaluating the costs and benefits generated by such activities.

This book analyzes the state and management of national parks in Africa. It discusses the state of ecosystems of national parks in the continent and assesses the capacity of environmental leadership and management to positively impact on biodiversity conservation in national pakrs. The book also examines the economic, social, and environmental performance of national parks in Africa and the role of stakeholders in the reailzation of the anticipated benefits of national parks in Africa.

This paper examines how interventions intended to improve functionality and productivity of forested landscapes to improve livelihoods of the poorest populations, might actually yield co-benefits in terms of biodiversity conservation. It argues in favour of a ‘landscape’ approach to achieve these co-benefits.

The practices listed in this catalogue are selected on the basis of their potential capacity to mitigate the foreseeable negative effects of climate change, particularly recurrent droughts, floods, strong winds/sand storms and high temperatures.

In the Volta basin, WANI and partners have worked with riparian states to improve water governance and water management practices. This has resulted in multi-scale participatory governance frameworks for joint management of water resources and improvement of livelihoods through riverbank protection schemes. This has complemented and helped to facilitate large scale government and donor initiatives that have supported the establishment the Volta Basin Authority.

Le Guide juridique expose les principales règles qui régissent la gestion des forêts au Burkina Faso avec pour ambition de vulgariser ces textes auprès des conseils municipaux pour leur permettre de mieux s’en approprier, de connaître leurs droits mais aussi leurs devoirs en matière de gestion des forêts.
