Management of transboundary waters in increasingly becoming more challenging, and climate change is likely to exacerbate these pressures. Not least because climate change is a global issue, adaptation will require an international response. This book aims to identify issues, both theoretical and practical, that States face in establishing cooperative transboundary mechanisms to effectively adapt water management to climate change.

Los pueblos indígenas de América Latina viven una compleja realidad jurídica. Este libro interesa a los indígenas porque la relación entre los Estados Nacionales y los pueblos indígenas es una tema no resuelto todavía. Este libro informa acerca de la realidad de las normas constitucionales sobre indígenas en América Latina, hace un balance de los mismas, y abre un debate sobre los problemas, bondades e incoherencias que ofrece la legislación de cada uno de los países.

La cuenca del río Sixaola es compartarget_ida entre Costa Rica y Panamá. Desde el 2011, el proyecto BRIDGE: Construyendo Diálogos y Buena Gobernanza del Agua ha trabajado en promover una mejor cooperación alrededor de las aguas trasfronterizas, implementando un enfoque no convencional para la hidrodiplomacia.

The Sixaola river basin is shared between Costa Rica and Panama. Since 2011, the BRIDGE project: Building River Dialogue and Governance has worked to promote better cooperation around transboundary waters, implementing a non-conventional approach for hydrodiplomacy. This document summarizes the socioeconomic context of the basin, existing institutional arrangements, interventions by the BRIDGE project and advances of the Binational Commission of the Sixaola River Basin.

This report, two years in the making, provides a comprehensive assessment of progress being made towards SFM in each ITTO producer member country and identifies the challenges remaining. Key findings include that the area deemed to be under sustainable management has grown by 50% over the past 5 years but that several countries continue to struggle to make the transition to sustainability in their tropical forests.

The Parks in Peril program begin in 1990 to secure the survival of some of the most endangered and biologically important areas in Latin America and the Caribbean. This publication documents progress of the Parks in Peril program and provides detailed information about this group of protected areas.

The interdisciplinary situation analysis (ISA) presented in this document is the first of its kind and pilots various analyses of secondary data that may be drawn upon to inform the second phase of the landscape assessment, which involves primary data collection. This is the first analysis of its kind and has been performed with PiN methodological development in mind, thus its format will likely see changes as progress is made on different PiN pilot site studies.
