An assessment of wildlife poaching and trafficking in Bolivia and Suriname

IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands (IUCN NL) commissioned this assessment of wildlife poaching and trafficking in the Amazon in order to enhance understanding of the issue and inform potential future engagement. Bolivia and Suriname were selected as focal countries both because they were deemed to be representative of the wider region and in light of several years of incountry engagement on the part of IUCN NL.

Status of tropical forest management 2011

This report, two years in the making, provides a comprehensive assessment of progress being made towards SFM in each ITTO producer member country and identifies the challenges remaining. Key findings include that the area deemed to be under sustainable management has grown by 50% over the past 5 years but that several countries continue to struggle to make the transition to sustainability in their tropical forests.
