Wild Land News is published by the Scottish Wild Land Group, which is Scotland's oldest and only volunteer-run wild land charity and works to protect Scotland's species, environments and landscapes.
This 350-page book about biodiversity, "Nature in Northern Europe Biodiversity in a changing environment", is the end-product of a major Northern European co-operation project. It compiles the latest essential information about plant and animal species and their habitats, while assessing the need for nature conservation.
In this publication, a group of contributors look back at changes in the environment and land use over the centuries before trying to forcast where current events and trends are taking us. Their main purpose is to examine and consider what actions might be taken to ameliorate unwelcome trends and promote beneficial ones. The end product is an "Agenda for Action" recommending the kinds of policies and practices that would be likely to enhance the environmental qualities most valued by society."
