This guidance document provides an overview of concepts important for understanding oil spill response planning and implementation for marine and coastal environments; however, much of the information can be applied to land-based operations as well. This guidance discusses the development of oil spill response efforts and identifies the key factors that might be important for reviewing a response system to determine if it is appropriate for the risks it seeks to address. Intended for internal Chevron use only.

The Journal for Nature Conservation is a scientific journal focusing on methods and techniques used in nature conservation. This international and interdisciplinary journal offers a forum for the communication of modern approaches to nature conservation. It aims to provide both scientists and practitioners in conservation theory, policy and management with comprehensive and applicable information. In particular, the journal wants to encourage the communication between scientists and practitioners, and thereby explore new research avenues that integrate biodiversity issues with socio-economic concepts. Review and research papers, discussion papers and methodological papers, as well as short communications are welcome from a wide range of disciplines, such as landscape ecology, restoration ecology, theoretical ecology, ecological modelling, ecological economics, conservation biology, wildlife management, environmental planning, policy making, and environmental education.

Each year, over 80 scientists from around the world gather to discuss and assess the status of the world's whale stocks. They form the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission and report to that body before it agrees regulations for the coming year. The series, which has recently been superseded, contained: (1) details of all management decisions taken by the Commission; (2) the Report of the Scientific Committee and its sub-committees; (3) up to sixty papers written by biologists from up to twenty countries; the papers concern all aspects of cetacean biology (including both the great whales and the smaller cetaceans), from population dynamics, ecology and behaviour, to stock assessment, age determination and genetics.
