The troubled sea

This film examines worldwide fishing techniques and how overfishing and the dumping of waste is causing destruction of this vital resource. It investigates controls on fishing and dumping, emphasizing the need for new international co-operation. Industrial fisheries and overfishing are shown as destroying the marine ecosystem. Consciousness raising to help hightlight this problem is discussed and an example of young people cleaning up their local beach depicted.
