Video presents the background and objectives of the Woodless Construction Programme and draws upon numerous built examples. Woodless construction is the term used to describe a building system using unstabilized mud brick vaults and domes. This building system is based on traditional building techniques in the Sahel. The projects sponsors' Development Workshop and IUCN that since the introduction of these techniques to Niger 12 years ago, the use of woodless construction is spreading "spontaneously". New mobile training units will be launched in 1993 to meet a growing demand for training, including for women.
