In the district of Bécharré at 75 km north-east of Beirut, there is a remnant forest of cedars. This area the Qadisha Valley was proposed at the World Heritage commission but the site was not accepted. Panoramic views of cedars trees and of the cedar forest utilization. There is two interview of Jim Thorsell (field visit 20-24 April 1993), expert in protected areas for the WH commission.
