This booklet provides practical guidance on how the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems (RLE) and the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) Ecosystem Accounting can be produced and used in combination for policy, decision-making and monitoring, with a focus on implementation and monitoring of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. The Red List of Ecosystems focuses on the risk status of ecosystems from a biodiversity perspective, while SEEA Ecosystem Accounting foregrounds the contributions of ecosystems to people and the economy. The booklet encourages collaboration between practitioners and agencies tasked with developing programmes of work for the Red List of Ecosystems or SEEA Ecosystem Accounting to co-invest in shared datasets and align workflows, reducing duplication of effort, strengthening national capacity and
enhancing outcomes for biodiversity, ecosystems and people.
