Organizational assessment : a framework for improving performance

This guidebook presents an innovative and thoroughly tested model for organizational self-assessment. The tools and tips in this volume go beyond measuring the impact of programs, products, and services. They integrate techniques of formative assessment, in which the assessment team becomes involved in helping its organization become more effective in meeting its goals. The tools and techniques are flexible, and the model can be adapted to any type or size of organization. Worksheets and hands-on exercises are included.
Annual Strategic Reviews focus on key issues and questions related to the performance of organizational units. This publication provides guidance for IUCN managers and review teams in planning and managing these Strategic Reviews. The guide provides an overview of the expected steps in the review process and provides tools, ideas and tips on the things to do or not to forget. It also contains examples of data collection instruments (questionnaires and interview protocols) that have been used in past reviews and that can be adapted for future reviews.
