Después de circular los análisis nacionales en cada país para su revisión, TRAFFIC ha producido este reporte regional que sintetiza la información contenida en cada uno de los análisis nacionales, e incluye recomendaciones para el fortalecimiento de capacidades regionales. Además, este documento incluye una síntesis de la estructura legal y formas funcionales en las que el comercio de vida silvestre se maneja en los países de CAFTA-DR.

After vetting country-specific assessments with each country, TRAFFIC has produced this regional report that synthesizes information from each of the six country assessments and makes recommendations for regional capacity building approaches. This analysis includes an overview of the legal structure and functional ways that wildlife trade is managed in CAFTA-DR countries.

TRAFFIC initiated a series of surveys to gather basic data on the status, management, and trade of the American black bear. The purpose of the effort was to establish a baseline of information on the species and to examine trends over a period of years. TRAFFIC published the results of the first two surveys in a previous report. This report culminates the project, summarizing information from TRAFFIC’s third survey and comparing the data it provided to what was learned earlier.
