This document seeks to provide an overview of the relationship between gender and realisation of the Convention on Biological Diversitys objectives, in particular the objective on the fair and equitable sharing of benefits derived from access to and use of biological and genetic resources and traditional knowledge. This document is intended to assist those engaged in promoting gender equity and equality in CBD actions.

The World Heritage List includes 156 properties explicitly recognized for their outstanding biodiversity values, which together represent the worlds major ecosystems. However, some areas with outstanding biodiversity values are still not part of this network of biodiversity World Heritage sites. To address this issue, IUCN and UNEP-WCMC have developed this global thematic study, with a focus on the terrestrial realm.
This report brings together a broad range of new and existing information on 2,358 plant and animal species of the Albertine Rift (AR) region of East and Central Africa. A collaborative project assessed the climate change vulnerability of all known Albertine Rift mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, as well as a range of plants, whilst simultaneously gathering detailed information on their use by humans.
To address the lack of sufficent knowledge on wetland biodiversity in Tanguar Haor, a comprehensive survey on biodiversity was conducted to understand the present status, habitat classification, population density and diversity of wildlife. The main goal of this book is to share information on the biodiversity of and threats to flora in Tanguar Haor. The text includes species profiles for the most important and popular plant species in Tanguar Haor, to facilitate plant identification.
