Bustards

La population marocaine de grandes outardes (Otis tarda), une espèce menacées de l'UICN™, est en faible nombre et en déclin, et elle survit principalement dans deux sites de reproduction (leks) où l'on dénombre entre 40 et 50 oiseaux. La finalité est de sauvegarder les principaux leks (Araoua et Tieta-Rissana) d'ici 2025, grâce une désignation nationale adaptée et à l'entier soutien des communautés, et de permettre à la population de grandes outardes de croître (80-100 oiseaux) et de commencer à s'étendre vers ses anciens sites. 

The Moroccan population of the Great Bustard Otis tarda, a Vulnerable species according to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™, is small and declining, surviving mainly in two breeding areas (leks) and numbering some 40 to 50 birds. The goal is that by 2025, the key leks of Araoua and Tleta-Rissana will be safeguarded by appropriate national designations and strong community support, with the Great Bustard population increased to 80-100 birds and starting to expand to former areas.
