The Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions cooperate to protect human health and the environment from the negative effects of hazardous pollutants. This Environment and Gender Information (EGI) platform analysis explores how women are represented as delegates to the Conferences of the Parties (COPs), members and observers of Conventions’ Subsidiary Bodies, and national focal points.

For the past two decades, governments have established new international mandates ensuring that gender equality and women’s empowerment are central to environmental decision-making and sustainable development. However, the lack of a mechanism to monitor and measure government progress has contributed to little or no implementation of these mandates.

El documento ofrece un resumen sobre el marco legal e institucional para el desarrollo de mecanismos de distribución de beneficios REDD+. Asimismo presenta lecciones aprendidas, retos y recomendaciones para el diseño de estos mecanismos en el contexto peruano.

The document presents a summary of the legal and institutional framework necessary for the development of REDD+ benefit-sharing mechanisms. Furthermore, it introduces lessons learned, challenges, and recommendations for the design of such mechanisms in a Peruvian context.
