Environmental policy

This ambitious publication focuses on lessons learned from ten years of applied conservation approaches of the Central African Regional Program for the Environment (CARPE), which operates in nine countries spanning the entire Congo Basin. This publication contains 27 case studies of applied conservation as well as seven overview articles synthesizing the results of the case studies, which cover different thematic areas.

Les Aires Marines Protégées (AMPs) d’Afrique de l’Ouest tiennent enfin, avec ce guide pratique, leur outil d’émancipation. Il est temps de structurer les approches et passer à la vitesse supérieure en matière de gouvernance partagée et gestion conjointe des aires protégées. Tous ceux qui s’intéressent de près ou de loin aux AMPs—communautés, individus, organisations gouvernementales ou non— vont pouvoir se situer ici dans leur processus de gouvernance.

A system plan is the design of a total reserve system covering the full range of ecosystems and communities found in a particular country, identifying the range of purposes of protected areas and the relationships among the system components (i.e. individual areas, protected areas and other land uses), and different sectors and levels of society.

Este documento impulsa un proceso de incidencia estratégica para guiar las acciones de la UICN-Mesoamérica durante el 2006-2010. Es el resultado de un trabajo colectivo de reflexión y análisis institucional y del entorno, que pretende contribuir a la construcción de una sociedad en Mesoamérica más sostenible, donde se impulsen las alianzas entre los diversos sectores.

Este documento muestra el compromiso de la UICN-Mesoamérica durante cuatro años para desarrollar acciones que contribuyan a impactar el entorno convirtiéndose en el marco de referencia institucional para orientar el trabajo de sus áreas temáticas.
