Industry

The growth and prosperity of a state depend very largely on what use the people make of their natural resources. If used wisely, these resources are a safe and permanent foundation for State building. North Carolina is blessed in the variety of her resources.

Pendant tout le siècle passé, le développement prodigieux du machinisme s'est accompli sans grand heurt. L'industrie trouvait devant elle un univers tout neuf, qui ne demandait qu'à se laisser conquérir : enrichissant les masses, elle augmentait leur  pouvoir d'achat et se créait ainsi sa propre clientèle.
