This report provides information to enhance understanding of water-related ecological and economic systems of the Pangani Basin based on work which was already completed then with a view to identifying gaps and development of Terms of Reference for specialist studies to address the gaps.
Papers presented as well as discussions and recommendations are collected in this report. Papers were presented under four themes : promoting access to information and networking; skills enhancement; case studies of existing networks in southern Africa and establishment of a network through group discussions and recommendations.
BCIS Framework for Information Sharing is a set of handbooks available in three languages (French, Spanish and English) on CDRom, with a printed Executive Overview. The handbooks were written to support the growth of information management capacity. Topics are addressed at a managerial level rather than from a technical standpoint in the belief that the greatest challenges in modern information management are organisational rather than technical.
This series reviews the issues and processes involved in the management of biodiversity information to support the conservation and sustainable use of living resources. They also provide a framework for the development of national plans and strategies and for meeting reporting obligations of international programmes and conventions.
