The objective of this assignment is to prepare an investment strategy for coffee and cash crop production in the Central Highlands of Viet Nam which complies with the nexus principles of maximizing economic benefits across the Srepok and Sesan river basins. 

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) continue to influence global development policy in the coming decade. Under SDG15, Target 15.3 calls to “combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world” by 2030. As of May 2019, 122 countries committed to set national targets for a land degradation-neutral world (LDN).

The Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the Ministry of Economic Affairs commissioned IUCN NL to research how innovative financial instruments such as green bonds can help scaling up Integrated Landscape Management (ILM) initiatives in the Netherlands.

Mangroves are among the most important ecosystems on the planet. They provide nursery grounds for a wide variety of marine and landbased species, sustain livelihoods of coastal populations, and protection from ocean swell and extreme weather events. However, mangroves are being cleared, degraded, or lost at a rapid pace. This report is targeted at project developers, donors and investors.

The objective of this report is to identify financial product structures that have the potential to establish conservation finance in mainstream investment markets. This report focuses on investment mechanisms that activate one or more cash flows generated by the sustainable management of an ecosystem, which in part remain within the ecosystem to enable its conservation, and in part are returned to investors.

Despite being internationally recognised as being of "Outstanding Universal Value" and protected under the UNESCO World Heritage Convention, some of the world's most dazzling areas are under increasing threat from the extractives sector, in particular from commercial mining and oil and gas exploration companies. 

This desk-based study assesses the feasibility of attracting private investments to finance Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) in Rwanda. It provides a detailed review of the main factors that will determine if and how Rwanda can attract private (return-motivated) investors. The study also provides recommendations on how Rwanda can move forward and mobilize the resources and technical assistance needed to secure private investment in FLR.
