Development of a regional capacity in natural capital accounting of protected areas in West Africa

West Africa is characterized by rapid population growth, endemic poverty and poor governance and management of natural resources. This situation is exacerbated by the negative effects of climate change and is unequivocally leading to the depletion of West African natural capital, including the ecosystems on which the population largely depends. Conservation and management of natural resources, which is a necessity to sustain our planet, requires well-informed decision-making towards sustainable growth and long-term development.

A guide to investing in landscape restoration to sustain agrifood supply chains

This guide provides information and reasoning as to why it is important for agribusinesses to engage in nature-positive business practices, and why landscape restoration is an effective solution to issues related to degradation of landscapes and natural capital on which agribusinesses depend. The aim of this guide is not to provide a comprehensive methodological overview, but to outline key steps to consider for developing a business case for restoration in supply chains, and why this matters.

The land we live in : the book of conservation

The author writes in the preface that those who immediately follow us will pay still more deary for past misuse of natural resources, which belongs to them in common with ourselves. The thought that a boy's book on conservation had possibilities for usefulness came trough the conviction that American boys are even more deeply concerned with what is being done with the great natural resources than those Americans who are boys no longer.
