This report documents the results of field assessments undertaken to determine the distribution and status of the globally threatened crocodilian, Tomistoma schlegelii, in peat swamp areas of Peninsular Malaysia. The study was focused in, and around, Peninsular Malaysia’s two largest peat swamp forests; the North Selangor peat swamp forest and the Southeast Pahang peat swamp forest.

Sweden has the highest variation in wetland types within the EU, and after Russia, it has the largest wetland area in Europe. The Swedish Wetland Survey (VMI), which covered all large wetland sites except the ones in the alpine zone, took place between 1981 and 2004. The purpose of this report is to make information about the wetland survey available outside of Sweden. The report is a compilation of excerpts from the national final report.

SPREP presents these guidelines for undertaking rapid biodiversity assessments in its Pacific island member countries and territories: Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia. These assessments are referred to as BIORAPs. The guidelines are recommended to be used by SPREP members for the planning and implementation of terrestrial and marine BIORAP surveys, and subsequent monitoring of important sites.
