Terrestrial ecosystems

La Lista Roja de Ecosistemas (LRE) proporciona un nuevo estándar unificado de carácter global, desarrollado por la UICN (Union Internacional de Conservación de la Naturaleza), cuyo propósito es orientar procesos de evaluación de riesgo que sean comparables y compatibles, acerca del estado de todos los ecosistemas del mundo, que pueda ser aplicado de manera coherente desde el nivel global, hasta los niveles regional, nacional o local.

This report is based on extensive literature search to reveal the elements of animal and plan biodiversity in the State of Kuwait, and points out missing information on other little-known groups. Despite its small area, Kuwait enjoys a rich fauna, given its desert and marine habitats. Hundreds of published scientific papers and reference books were reviewied to amass all species, fauna and flora, that were reported from Kuwait.

El presente documento es contentivo del Programa Nacional de Conservación de Ecosistemas Terrestres con cobertura boscosa en Honduras (PNCET). Este Programa constituye uno de los dos instrumentos de planificación que ha priorizado el país para implementar la Estrategia Nacional de REDD+. Este documento presenta el PNCET comienza con describir los aspectos metodológicos que fueron considerados en la formulación del Programa.

Yet all of the world’s ecosystems show hallmarks of human influence, and many are under acute risks of collapse, with consequences for habitats of species, genetic diversity, ecosystem services, sustainable development and human well-being.

This publication summarises the results of the European Red List for terrestrial and freshwater habitats. It provides an overview on the character, extent and status of 233 natural and semi-natural, terrestrial and freshwater habitat types through assessments undertaken between 2013 to 2016. The results are presented at two geographic levels: across the EU28 and EU28+, including Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and the Balkan countries.

SPREP presents these guidelines for undertaking rapid biodiversity assessments in its Pacific island member countries and territories: Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia. These assessments are referred to as BIORAPs. The guidelines are recommended to be used by SPREP members for the planning and implementation of terrestrial and marine BIORAP surveys, and subsequent monitoring of important sites.
