BIOPAMA’s capacity-development strategy in Central and West Africa aims to encourage the managers and administrators of the protected areas (PA) to use the regional information system, or Regional Observatory for Protected Areas and Biodiversity.
The Responsive Forest Governance Initiative (RFGI) is an Africa-wide environmental-governance research and training program focusing on enabling responsive and accountable decentralization to strengthen the representation of forest-based rural people in local-government decision making.
This study was commissioned by IUCN Programme Aires Protégées – UICN-PACO in late 2014 to develop comprehensive understanding for the scaling potential of the “small grants for biodiversity” model, and to improve the design and/or targeting of future investments.
