Zones importantes pour les plantes en Méditerranée méridionale et orientale : sites prioritaires pour la conservation

Ce rapport présente une évaluation préliminaire des Zones importantes pour les plantes en Méditerranée méridionale et orientale, plus l’Albanie. Dix recommandations ont été formulées, qui contribueront à orienter les actions de conservation de la flore sauvage en Méditerranée. La mise en oeuvre effective de ces recommandations permettra d’améliorer à long terme l’environnement et la qualité de vie des habitants dans cette région unique.

Important plant areas of the south and east Mediterranean region : priority sites for conservation

This report describes a rapid assessment of Important Plant Areas in the south and east Mediterranean; a project designed to provide the ‘wild plant perspective’ for the regional investment strategy of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund. The project partnership of IUCN, Plantlife International and WWF with botanical teams from Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Syria and Albania, was supported by the French Development Agency. 10 recommendations have been developed to help direct the conservation of wild plants in the Mediterranean.

Legal aspects of the conservation of wetlands : papers presented at an international conference held in Lyon, France

Papers presented at a symposium on the legal problems of the conservation of wetlands, jointly organized the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and the Groupe des zones humides of the Société française pour le droit de l’environnement. The meeting, attended by almost 100 participants representing 25 countries, was held in Lyon, France, in September 1987. General presentations of the international aspects of wetlands conservation and the functioning of the Convention are followed by individual case studies and country reports.
