Integrating Nature-based Solutions into policies for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction
This scoping study has been developed to enable better understanding of the Serbian national context, in terms of the institutional, policy and legal framework and reveal the key challenges for the application of Nature-Based Solutions along with the recommendations and entry points for the mainstreaming of Nature-Based Solutions into national disaster risk reduction and climate change policies and strategies.
The present volume should be read in conjunction with State of nature conservation systems in South-Eastern Europe as it represents its integral part and foundation. Both reports follow the same logic and structure, and their content is presented through the same thematic chapters.
All major macromycetes found in Serbia and the Western Balkans are represented in the book. There are over 1500 species, varieties and forms described in the book, out of which over 1200 are illustrated with a photograph.
The current book presents and summarizes works and projects finalized during the second course of Klagenfurt University's postgraduate M.Sc programme on "Management in Protected Areas" (2007 to 2009). While the first volume in this proceedings series presented the focus on approaches for improving protected areas, the current volume develops the understanding of PA management further to emphasize the dynamic aspects of management in terms of innovative and new approaches and scientific results.
For the first time a comprehensive overview of geo-conservation in Europe has been presented in a book. Geoheritage in Europe and its Conservation includes specific contributions from 37 countries focussing on legislation and geoconservation practices. The only record of the history of our planet lies in the rocks beneath our feet: rocks and the landscape are the memory of the Earth.
Nature conservation has been published since 1949 and is the only of such type of journals in Serbia. Topics include a range of natural and social science disciplines that study the nature, geo-diversity, bio-diversity and landscape diversity, protection and conservation, the aspect of nature protection in tourism, urban planning, education and philosophical understanding of nature.
