The main purpose of this wildlife crime assessment is to provide information on the current trends and drivers of wildlife crime in Ethiopia, get insights into existing local criminal networks, evaluate how the country serves as a transit route for the contraband and, assess the strengths and weaknesses of the legal framework to effectively address wildlife crime.

Natural World Heritage sites are internationally recognised as having the highest global nature conservation priority. As of November 2017, there are 241 natural and mixed (both cultural and natural) World Heritage sites, representing about 0.1% of the total number of protected areas globally, but yet with a total coverage of 294 million hectares, accounting for 8% of the combined surface of terrestrial and 6% of marine protected areas.

La Méthodologie d’évaluation des opportunités de restauration des paysages forestiers (MEOR) a été élaborée par l’UICN et le World Resources Institute (WRI) pour aider les pays à identifier les opportunités de restauration des paysages forestiers (RPF), analyser les zones prioritaires au niveau national ou infranational et concevoir et mettre en oeuvre des interventions de RPF.

La UICN y el World Resources Institute (WRI) crearon la Metodología de Evaluación de Oportunidades de Restauración (ROAM) para ayudar a los países a identificar oportunidades de restauración de paisajes forestales (RPF), analizar las áreas prioritarias a nivel nacional o subnacional, y diseñar y ejecutar intervenciones de RPF.
