In addition, the workshop served as a venue to bring together and build on the work of several parallel projects, including those undertaken under the auspices of the Arctic Council, the World Heritage Arctic marine site identification process, and mapping efforts by non-governmental organizations including the World Wildlife Fund, Oceana and the National Audubon Society.
