China's judiciary is actively combating illegal trade and undertaking restoration efforts. For instance, in March 2025, the Ruian (Zhejiang) procuratorate prosecuted an illegal Chinese horseshoe crab trafficking case, releasing the assessed healthy individuals back to suitable waters.
