Integrated vulnerability assessment framework for atoll islands

This resource material is designed as a generic guide for planning, implementing and reporting an integrated vulnerability assessment (IVA) that targets atoll communities in the Pacific Islands region. Wildlife cases in Tanzanian courts

Illegal killing and trade is a major threat to wildlife particularly in Africa. The current levels of elephant and rhino poaching are the highest in decades driven by burgeoning demand for ivory. East African countries, especially Tanzania, are increasingly implicated as source or transit countries for illegal ivory and rhino horn.

Ce rapport sur les bonnes pratiques d’application des lois en Afrique souhaite contribuer aux efforts internationaux de lutte contre la criminalité liée aux espèces sauvages dans les aires protégées d’Afrique subsaharienne en proposant une étude systématique et fondée sur les faits des pratiques d’application des lois qui se sont avérées efficaces dans différentes situations et en identifiant les bonnes pratiques émergentes.

Solutions bleues de l'Afrique

Cette publication est un résultat du troisième Forum régional pour les océans, les côtes et le bien-être humain en Afrique de Blue Solutions qui s’est tenu au printemps 2016. Elle compile 32 solutions bleues de l’Afrique dont la plupart ont été présentées pendant l’événement. Les solutions résumées dans la présente publication mettent l’accent sur des thèmes tels que les aires marines protégées, le tourisme durable, la pêche durable, les moyens de subsistance durables, la préservation des ressources et de la biodiversité et l’atténuation des effets du changement climatique.

Blue solutions from Latin America and the wider Caribbean

This publication is a result of Blue Solutions’ second Regional Forum on Solutions for Oceans, Coasts and Human Well-being in Latin America and the Wider Caribbean Region. This four-day workshop was held in Cancún, Mexico in April 2015. During this event more than 40 participants presented their positive examples and engaged with the larger audience in discussions around how these examples can be adapted to address pressing challenges faced in other regions or sectors in Latin America and the Wider Caribbean.

Solutions in focus : transboundary protected area solutions

PANORAMA is a partnership initiative to facilitate learning from success in conservation. It promotes examples of inspiring solutions that showcase how nature conservation can benefit society. PANORAMA enables the wider application of such solutions through cross-sectoral global learning and exchange. Through a modular case study format, solutions are dissected into their replicable “building blocks”. This booklet is the first in a series of compilations assembling PANORAMA solution case studies on a defined topic.
