The IUCN has established a project office in Nepal to assist in implementing the National Conservation Strategy (NCS). In these pages, IUCN presents the Union's current activities in the country, future plans and methods of operation. 

IUCN’s Protected Areas Management Categories, which classify protected areas according to their management objectives, are today accepted as the benchmark for defining, recording and classifying protected areas.They are recognized by international bodies such as the United Nations as well as many national governments. As a result, they are increasingly being incorporated into government legislation.

Humankind has long felt a kinship of ocean-dwelling mammals, and human culture, customs, and literature abound with sea mammal lore. This volume covers 19 families in 3 orders. Sirenians (like manatees) are evolutionarily distant from both pinnipeds (meaning "fin-footed") and cetaceans, but ecological similarity argues for keeping these three groups together in one volume.

Mediterranean Reflections 2012-2013 is a report summarizing the main activities of the Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN-Med) developed by the various programmes that are operating from Malaga in 2012, 2013 and part of the work already underway in 2014.
