As the World Heritage Convention celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022, over 1100 sites around the world are recognized as World Heritage - places  that are so valuable to humanity that there conservation has been deemed our collective responsibility. Yet many of these exceptional places face  increasing pressure from diverse types of development projects within and around the sites.

Ten tijden van de vijftigste verjaardag van het Werelderfgoedverdrag in 2022 zijn wereldwijd meer dan 1100 erfgoederen erkend als Werelderfgoed, plekken die zo waardevol zijn voor de mensheid dat het behoud ervan als onze gezamenlijke verantwoordelijkheid wordt gezien. This Resource Manual has a specific purpose: helping to manage natural values within World Heritage properties. As such it is aimed at natural and mixed World Heritage properties as well as cultural landscapes (inscribed under cultural criteria). The intention is to help managers understand and incorporate World Heritage concepts and processes into natural site management.

Настоящее Информационное руководство разработано с конкретной целью: способствовать управлению природными ценностями объектов всемирного наследия. Таким образом, оно касается объектов всемирного природного и смешанного культурно-природного наследия, а также культурных ландшафтов (последние включены в Список всемирного наследия в соответствии с критериями для объектов культурного наследия).

Por meio deste Manual objetiva-se oferecer aos Estados-partes e a todos os envolvidos com a manutenção de bens do Patrimônio Mundial orientações para o cumprimento dos requisitos da Convenção. Procura-se, ainda, ajudar os Estados-partes a garantir que o patrimônio tenha um papel dinâmico na sociedade e que esta possa aproveitar, mas também transmitir, os benefícios mútuos advindos dessa condição. Este Manual aborda apenas a gestão de sítios de patrimônio cultural.

El manual ofrece orientaciones a los Estados Partes y a todos los que intervienen en el cuidado de los bienes del Patrimonio Mundial cultural sobre la manera de cumplir las prescripciones de la Convención.
